Autism or Autistic Disorder, Asperger's Disorder and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders Resource Page

This is a compilation of resources on Autism, Aspergers Disorder or Syndrome (including the sometimes referred to high functioning Autism) as well as other developmental disorders including Rett's Disorder, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder, and other issues associated with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder and why one might be diagnosed with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder NOS or an Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. I will also be exploring educational and psychological testing issues and developmental assessment. Cognitive and Achievement testing issues as well as issues associated with the diagnoses Mental Retardation and Borderline Intellectual Functioning will also be addressed. There are also measures out there related to adaptive behaviors and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) focusing on how independent in functioning a child or adult may be. There are a lot of theories on the cause of autism which I will be writing up blurbs about for you, including the amusingly named leaky gut theory among others.
